Editorial policy
Stellar Design Journal aims to make visual design easier to examine and discuss. We distinguish explanation from opinion, use examples carefully, and correct material when a meaningful error comes to light.
Accuracy and context
We take care with names, terms, dates and descriptions of design work. When a piece makes a factual claim, we aim to present it clearly and in context. Interpretations of visual work are identified as interpretations rather than settled facts. Readers can contact us through the Contact page to flag a possible error; we review the concern and update material when warranted.
Independence and partnerships
Editorial decisions are made for the publication's readers. A partnership does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view. If material is made with, supported by or supplied by a partner, that relationship is labelled clearly where the material appears, so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work.
Images and illustrations
Illustrations may be AI-generated. Where an illustration could be mistaken for a documentary image or a real design artefact, we identify it as illustrative. Images are used to support discussion, not to stand in as proof for a claim.
Corrections and updates
When a reader raises a concern, we assess the specific point and correct confirmed errors in the relevant material. Where a change affects the meaning of an article, we aim to make the update clear to readers rather than quietly leaving an important mistake in place.
